Graphicast introduced our new Design and Rapid Prototyping concept earlier this year, and it has proven to be an effective method to quickly obtain prototypes that replicate a production cast metal metal part. Our design team works with customers to start a new part design with the casting process in mind (e.g., draft, radii, cast surfaces and near net shaped geometry).
We then use a cast a block of our ZA12 alloy as a machining preform and machine it exactly to the casting geometry, including parting lines and any gating vestiges!
